Why did you choose your number?

“I was always number 13 growing up but they didn’t have that number to choose from, so I chose the lowest number that I could get and just grabbed it. I had to stick with it.”

Any family connection to Owatonna ATHLETICS?

“Both my parents grew up outside of Owatonna. We moved here, I would say, 14 years ago. But my parents got grouped up really quick with a lot of the people within the sports community. It really wasn’t ever an issue playing sports and not having any family connection to the Owatonna community because it’s a great culture.”

“I was actually born in Kasson.”

Are you involved in other activities at OHS?

“I play football and then I run track to sort of help keep me in shape for other sports. I really loved this past football season. It was super fun to be a part of a team that was so successful and so tight knit. I know coach (Jeff) Williams talked about that a lot — we were just a really tight group and it was really fun to be a part of that culture.”

A memorable phrase used by one of your coaches…

“I would go with Doc (Schuster). If you look at him on the bench after a big play, he’ll pump his fist and just yell ‘Yeah!’. Doc is memorable.”

What are your plans for next year?

“I am going to UW-Eau Claire to play basketball and I am still deciding what my major is going to be — still working that out. I have thought about maybe business, but we will see. But I am just really excited to be a part of a college basketball program that wants me to be there and was recruiting me from the beginning.”
