NO. 2 STORYLINE OF 2023
In late-August, the Owatonna community was struck with the tragic news that beloved second-year boys hockey coach, Dave Fromm, had unexpectedly passed.
He was just 54 years old and survived by his wife and two daughters.

Fromm was born and raised in Minneapolis and had recently returned to his home state to coach the Huskies after sending the previous decade coaching at various levels of the game in Colorado.
Playing with heavy-hearts, the OHS boys hockey team, under the guidance of new head coach Dennis Will — who served as an assistant coach at OHS for three years before taking over as the head coach from the 1991 -1998 — the Huskies manufactured one of their finest starts in program history this season by winning their first seven games.
“I can tell he’s looking down on us,” senior captain Owen Beyer told The Husky Bulletin in late-December. “Coach (Fromm) did so much for this program in such a short time. It’s definitely something we are always thinking about. We are always thinking about coach.”
