Before suffering a season-ending injury in Week 1 of the 2022 season, Nolan Ginskey touched the ball one time and returned it 80 yards for a touchdown against Rochester Mayo.
If Owatonna fans didn’t know back then, they know now: Hold your breath when No. 3 has the ball.
After quickly gaining his footing and catching his stride through the first few weeks of the 2023 season, Ginskey exploded onto the scene with an electric performance in Week 4 against Northfield and never looked back, ultimately manufacturing one of the finest offensive campaigns in OHS football history.
His numbers are dazzling — and there are so many singular examples of just how dominant he was last season — but this one stands out to me: Despite playing in two fewer games and finishing with just six total yards against Rochester Century in Week 5, Nolan Ginskey racked up 1,194 receiving yards on the season, besting Noah Budach’s previous single-season record of 1,042 by more than 150 yards.
And there’s plenty more where that came from…
