Offense has been the theme on the diamond for the Huskies

On Monday, April 24, THE OWATONNA SOFTBALL TEAM kept its unblemished record alive and moved to 5-0 at the time with an explosive 14-run outburst against Rochester Century.
Despite cooling off a bit following consecutive losses to Winona and Mankato West — which sported a combined 15-1 record on April 27 — Owatonna has posted a 9.7 RPG average through seven contests and has eclipsed 12 or more runs on four occasions.
Turns out, that wasn’t even the Huskies best offensive effort of the season. In fact, it wasn’t even the second-best.
Yeah, these girls can hit.
In Owatonna’s sizzling 5-0 start, the Huskies out-scored their first five opponents by a combined score of 72-8 with most of that production coming in the first two games of the season that started with a 19-0 drubbing of Austin on April 11 and was followed by a 25-5 blowout of Rochester JM two days later.
BASEBALL

THE OWATONNA BASEBALL TEAM has packed a ton of action into a roller-coaster 3-2 start to the new season.
The Huskies got off to a dazzling start and stood at 3-0 exactly a week into the campaign, out-scoring Austin, JM and Faribault by a combined total of 36-3. The highwater mark came on April 18 when OHS dusted Faribault 19-0 on the road. Ironically, the last time Owatonna scored more runs in a single game was in May of 2017 when they beat the Falcons 20-1 at home.
In their last two games, the level of competition quickly elevated and the Huskies suffered back-to-back losses to Winona and Mankato West. OHS committed seven errors in a 9-5 loss to the Winhawks and never stood a chance in a 14-0 setback against the Scarlets.
